ABOUT the ARTIST

Michael Zwack was born in Minneapolis, MN in the United States in 1981. Having grown up in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, he spent his early years embraced and nurtured by the natural world. Throughout his life, Michael has always been fascinated with the larger world beyond his own backyard and the stories derived from such far off places. His interest in photography cultivated during his late teen years and further expanded upon studying abroad in Greece his final semester of University.

After completing his Bachelor degree in Photography & History from the University of MN, Michael delved deeper into his photographic journey, leveraging his skills in the Wedding, Portraiture, and Sports markets before transitioning into Fine Art Photography. The images that Michael takes on his explorations are only part of the narrative; through his online gallery…

“Michael’s photographs interweave historical perspective with fine-art design to capture profound subjects in simplistic ways. By using stark monochromatic imagery mixed with vivid detail, he strips down dramatic scenes into basic compositional elements in attempt to explore the relationship between natural beauty and architectural aesthetic.”

Having gained invaluable business acumen through his time working as an executive for one of the largest native gaming enterprises in the midwest, his ability to incorporate such knowledge into a creative practice has shaped him into a dedicated & professional fine art photographer. Launched in 2016, his online gallery is a culmination of his life’s passion for growth & creativity.

Michael currently lives and works in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, and splits his time curating his online galley and researching his next adventure with his family and canine companion.
